Job Skills & TrainingStudents are able to gain valuable job skills and training in addition to building their self-esteem and providing them the tools and skills necessary for productive employment. WorkAbility 1 partners with many community based businesses, including retailers, beauty salons, and the local library to provide students with opportunities for work experience.

Earn MoneyNot only do students learn valuable employment skills, they also have the opportunity to earn a training incentive stipend for their work. If applicable, students are paid through WorkAbility 1 funds. WorkAbility 1 jobs are divided into sessions, with each session consisting of approximately 7 weeks. Students are able to apply for one session at a time. While there may be opportunities for students to work more than one session, we can only offer one session per student, on a first-come, first-served basis.
